29.Latvian Cyclists Unity Ride

In order to popularize and promote cycling sports in Latvia and create a sense of popular unity promoting a healthy lifestyle, this year the "Latvian Cycling Rider" ride is held. The competition is organized by Igo Japiņa Sporta aģentūra, Latvian Mountain Bike Federation in co-operation with the Latvian Bicycling Federation. The venue is in Sigulda, where the start and finish are organized at walking-stick square. Today racers have an opportunity to choose between 3 distances: Sports (100 km), MTB (50 km) and the popular Public distance (36 km), which usually gathers the largest number of participants – around 5000. The total number of participants amounts to about 6000. The cyclists always start and finish the ride in Sigulda.
