Summer Solstice at Mākoņi begins on 20 June — with fire, clay and the power of togetherness. Every year on this day, the black clay kiln Devoniņš is fired, where more than a hundred pieces are created — mugs, bowls, plates and other works that bring the true Summer Solstice feeling to life.
Celebrate Summer Solstice in Turaida with a full day dedicated to ancient traditions, rituals, workshops, music and togetherness under the motto “Over the Hill” (Pār kalniņu). From sunrise rituals to evening dances, visitors are invited to experience the rich heritage of Latvian Midsummer celebrations in one of the most symbolic cultural landscapes in Latvia
Only once a year do you get the chance to welcome the Midsummer sunrise at the Gauja estuary, surrounded by a boat, kayaks, live music, and breakfast on the water.
In the early morning of June 21st, join Boards You for one of the most magical sunrises of the year.
