Kvēpenes hillfort

Impressive hillfort in terms of size; our ancestors built it by using and adapting to own needs the steep slope of the primeval valley of Gauja and the terrain in the vicinity featuring many ravines.

Wooden stairs lead to the top of it. North of the hillfort there is one of the most scenic secular oaks in Latvia – Kvēpene secular oak. In the outcrop of the hillfort slope there is the Kvēpene cave. At the feet of the hillfort there is a way marking - water tourist site „Kvēpene”.
