Celebrating the Flavours of Winter

Already for the 7th time, on 25th of January, the largest gastronomic festival in Sigulda will be held at the Sigulda Castle of Livonian order – “Celebrating the Flavours of Winter”.

At the event from noon between 12.00 and 16.00, visitors will be invited to enjoy the best dishes prepared by the chefs of Sigulda municipality and Rīga-Gauja region.

Musical entertainment will be provided by the ecological music group "Ducele". Guests' wellbeing will be taken care of by gourmet and humourist Kozmens (Mārtiņš Kozlovskis).

This year, the Sigulda Gastronomy Festival will offer gourmets to enjoy the dishes of the Rīga-Gauja region, which are cooked on fire and suit the winter taste.

Every year, an ice vault is created for the festival, from which chefs highlight the next year's product, which becomes the main “king” of the festival a year later. A raspberry was hidden in the ice vault of the 2024 festival. This year's festival motto is “Si (gulda) šivī avenes” (Raspberries on a plate of Sigulda).

The winter challenge, which will be held for the seventh time, will feature and fire-ready chefs from the most recognised restaurants:

· “Ferma”

· “Kungu Rija”

· “Mālpils Manor restaurant”

· “Bīriņi Palace restaurant”

· Gastrogrillbar “Kokos”

· “Mr. Biskvit”

· “BeefRoom”

· and by other local producers of the region.

Both young and old will be delighted by the ice art created by the “Ice Design” team, which this year will be created by the world-renowned sand and ice sculpture artist Kārlis Īle.

Raspberry brightens the winter with its colour.

To enjoy the gastronomic event in full, visitors are invited to dress according to the weather and accentuate the red tones in the clothes!

Let's enjoy seasonal dishes from the local region from environmentally friendly dishes at friendly prices, payment only in cash.

Let's warm ourselves by the fire and enjoy winter in Sigulda!
