9th Swing festival in Sigulda

During Easter, Sigulda Municipality warmly invites visitors to the 9th Swing Festival, which this year celebrates the theme of art. We are honoring the centenary of the outstanding Latvian painter Džemma Skulme by bringing art to life through festive swings.

During Easter, Sigulda Municipality warmly invites visitors to the 9th Swing Festival, which this year celebrates the theme of art. We are honoring the centenary of the outstanding Latvian painter Džemma Skulme by bringing art to life through festive swings.

Swings will transform into genuine artworks inspired by various art genres—from visual arts and animation to cinema and costume design—bringing vivid colors and joy to the festival.

The Skulme family has always been a cornerstone of Latvian art—bold, creative, and unique. With deep roots in Mālpils Parish of Sigulda Municipality, this family has significantly influenced Latvia’s artistic landscape through painting, sculpture, cinema, and scenography, thus carrying forward national identity and cultural values. Inspired by the spirit of this remarkable family, let's swing into spring as high as our imagination can go!

We look forward to welcoming visitors to bunny races, egg rolling, and of course, the swings in Sigulda—a place where art meets joy.

During the festival, specially designed artistic and interactive swings will delight visitors of all ages. The event will also feature our BIO market, creative workshops, and various family-friendly activities.

Let’s welcome spring with artistic freedom and vibrant colors and together create the 9th Swing Festival in Sigulda!
