From December 1st, a real Christmas fairy tale will be on display at Ungurmuiža!
Unique 19th/20th century Christmas tree ornaments and decorations, an old Santa Claus mask, as well as decorations from the last century that recall childhood and family traditions. Santas from different eras greet all visitors, if you count how many there are in the exhibition, ask for a surprise prize!
Did you know that the origins of the greeting card tradition can be traced back 1000 years ago in China? In Europe, information about greeting cards can be found starting from the 15th century. You will see these and many more interesting facts about the origin and history of greeting cards, as well as cards from different times at Ungurmuiža! But sometimes the other side of the card with texts and wishes is more interesting than the picture, so the exhibition features large-format prints of old postcards that allow you to look into the past. Visitors to the exhibition are also welcome to leave their wishes for the ancient manor!
The exhibition at Ungurmuiža is open until January 26. Ungurmuiža Museum opening hours: Wednesday – Sunday from 10:00 a.m. – 4:00 p.m.
